Dengan semakin tumbuhnya masyarakat yang cerdas dan melek media online, maka seorang public relations officer harus mampu menyesuaikan dirinya dengan trend ini.<br />
Tugas-tugas public relations harus terintegrasi dengan media online yang semakin berkembang. Komunikasi dan informasi yang benar dan jujur menjadi tuntutan utama. Perlu dicatat bahwa kuatnya perkembangan media sosial, membuat setiap individu dalam masyarakat bisa berpendapat dengan bebas terhadap produk dan jasa sebuah perusahaan.
